What TalkOver does not collect

TalkOver does not upload, transmit, or give us access to your scripts, spoken words, microphone input, camera recordings, or reading history. Speech recognition runs on your Mac. There is no TalkOver account, cloud library, advertising tracker, or analytics SDK in the app.

Your files and cloud storage

Your scripts, settings, and recordings live on the computers you choose. If you choose an iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or other synchronized folder for your own library, that service handles the sync under its own privacy policy. TalkOver does not receive or have access to those files.

Website downloads and updates

Our website records an aggregate count when the free-trial download link is started. That count is used only to understand trial-download volume; it is not a list of people, devices, or app activity. Optional update checks retrieve current release information. Neither downloads nor update checks send us your scripts, speech, recordings, or reading activity.

Purchases through Payhip

TalkOver purchases are processed by Payhip. Payhip may provide us with the information needed to fulfill and support an order, such as your name if supplied, email address, purchased product, order date and status, transaction or receipt identifiers, and the amount paid. We do not receive or store full credit-card, PayPal, or other payment credentials. Payhip and its payment providers process payment information under their own policies.

We use order information only to fulfill the purchase, provide a license or download support when requested, and meet applicable business or legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share it for advertising or marketing.

License activation for direct purchases

When you activate a directly purchased copy of TalkOver, the activation service receives your license key and a random installation identifier created by the app. It checks the license with Payhip and keeps the installation identifier, product, included seat count, and activation time to enforce the number of Macs covered by the purchase. The service does not receive your scripts, recordings, microphone input, camera input, or reading history.

License keys are not kept in plaintext by the activation ledger, and buyer email is not part of its activation record. Our website host may process connection information, including IP address, for security and rate limiting. Activation records are retained only as needed to operate and support the license service.

No mailing list or marketing messages

We do not add customers, trial downloaders, or support contacts to a mailing list. We do not send marketing emails, sell contact information, or share it for someone else’s marketing. Purchase receipts and delivery messages are sent by Payhip as part of the transaction.

Support requests

We use information you share with us only to respond to your message. We delete your message and contact details after handling it. We do not sell your data or share it except as needed to deliver email.

Service providers

We use service providers only where necessary to operate the product and site: Payhip for checkout and digital delivery, its payment providers for payment processing, our website host for delivery of this site and trial download, and our email provider for messages you choose to send to support. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Your choices and questions

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion where applicable, or ask a privacy question by contacting support@talkoverapp.com. For payment, checkout, or account information held by Payhip, you may also need to contact Payhip directly.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and its date. We will not use your information in a materially different way without updating this policy.
